Welcome to Daddyman Diaries!!
I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. I am an educator by passion and by training. And above all, I am a blessed child of God.
I originally wanted to journal about my experiences of caring for an aging parent. This can cause a lot of stress, frustration, sadness and joy. It is hard to know where to turn for support during this challenging time. My plans, however, changed suddenly and dramatically.
I went from caring for my precious Daddy to saying good-bye.
After losing my Daddy, I created this online community where people can come together and support one another through life’s toughest times. It’s my goal to provide encouragement and compassion through creativity, reading, baking, and crafting…whatever it is that will help you feel less alone in your journey.
And that’s exactly what this site is all about.
Many many years ago, I took the course ‘Death and Dying’ in college. Something about the class spoke to me and I truly enjoyed the course and the instructor. Little did I know that the class would have such a huge impact on my life. I learned so much about grief and loss and how to be compassionate to people experiencing these emotions.
This site is dedicated to the memory of my precious Daddy, Frank Henry Farrington, who passed away on Good Friday, 2020. I hope to honor his memory by sharing stories and lessons I have learned along the way. May you find comfort and healing through these stories.
